Best of NIEM 2019 Nomination Window Now Open

It’s our favorite time of year here, when we recognize outstanding NIEM community achievements.

The Best of NIEM awards recognize innovative solutions using NIEM from federal, state, local and tribal governments, the international community, and private sector organizations. Accomplishments are based on impact demonstrated or developed since September 2018.

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, September 9, 2019

The nomination form is available here. Winners will be announced in October 2019.

Best of NIEM Award Categories:

  • Cross- Domain/Agency Collaboration:

A NIEM collaboration between two or more domains, agencies, federal, local, or state governments, tribes or any combination of the aforementioned.

  • Measurable Impact and Results:

NIEM achievement highlights quantitative or qualitative improvement(s) following implementation

  • Supporting an Efficient and Effective Government:

Identifies a time or cost savings or significant process improvement within government, using NIEM.

Please note: Senior executives and political appointees are NOT eligible for nomination. 

Nominations:

Nominations may be submitted in multiple categories.  Early stage pilots and research projects are eligible for nomination.

  • Complete a nomination form.
  • Email the completed nomination to the NIEM Management Office (NMO) at information@NIEM.gov .
  • The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, September 9, 2019. 

The NIEM Management Office evaluates submissions against the categories above and makes award recommendations to the Executive Steering Committee (ESC). Awards will be announced during the October 2019 NIEM Face-to-Face conference in Arlington, VA.
