Montana Incident-Based Reporting System (MTIBRS) IEPD

The Montana Incident-Based Reporting System (MTIBRS) incorporates all FBI NIBRS reporting requirements along with state specific reporting requirements. This document provides an overview of the additional and modified data elements that the State of Montana will collect MTIBRS It should be used in conjunction with the latest version of the FBI NIBRS Technical Specifications to understand a full picture of the reporting requirements for the State of Montana.  This document provides a functional perspective to help the RMs vendor and data contributor clearly understand the differences in reporting between the State of Montana and the FBI. The State will only accept the MT specific XML format and will not accept the standard FBI NIBRS IEPD submissions. The accompanying XML IEPD is inclusive of both FBI and state specific requirements.
