Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) Message Broker Service

The City of Richmond has partnered with alarm monitoring companies to create the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP), which provides an automated method for the rapid exchange of data between alarm monitoring companies and 9-1-1 public safety answering points. The NIEM-conformant ASAP reduces the total processing time from 2 to 3 minutes to less than 15 seconds, reducing the amount of time it takes for emergency personnel to respond to critical situations.
