NIEM Gets Shout-Out in Interview About President’s Strategic Plan
Kshemendra Paul, program manager, Information Sharing Environment (ISE) announced on Jan. 9 the release of the Strategic Implementation Plan for the President’s National Strategy for Information Sharing and Safeguarding. The plan details 16 priority objectives that span federal, state, local, and tribal governments, as well as private sector and international partners.
Federal News Radio interviewed Paul on Jan. 16, about the implementation plan. Bringing many information-sharing efforts together in a coordinated and collaborative way, he referenced the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) as a key component for baseline interoperability capabilities for the Plan.
"We are cross-latched with the federal CIO Council and some of the work they are doing," Paul said. "An example of that is the Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management framework, baseline interoperability capabilities, and the centerpiece for that is the NIEM and the broad base used for that."
