NIEM Announces JSON Specification Version 5.0's Final Release
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) is pleased to announce the final release of the NIEM JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) Specification v.5.0. This release marks NIEM’s adoption of JSON as the second standard format for representing data based on the NIEM data model.
This release establishes the technical basis for using JSON as a data format for exchange of information consistent with NIEM-conformant schemas and information exchange package descriptions (IEPDs) or message specifications. This technical specification is the product of NIEM’s Technical Architecture Committee (NTAC). The intended audience is primarily developers of tools that work with NIEM and NIEM JSON and others who require an understanding of alignment details between NIEM JSON and other representations of NIEM data. To view this specification and all other NIEM specifications, visit the NIEM Specifications page. More information about NIEM JSON can be found at https://niem.github.io/json/.
