NIEM 4.0 release candidate 1 is available for public review and comment

All feedback on NIEM 4.0 beta1 is in! We are now entering the release candidate stage. This is the final stage before we officially release NIEM 4.0 into production.

NIEM 4.0 release candidate 1 is available for public review and comment through June 9, 2017. Visit https://release.niem.gov/niem/4.0/ to download the full release package.

What happens during the release candidate stage? A series of NIEM 4.0rc versions (e.g. rc1, rc2, rc3) are generated, tested, reviewed, and tweaked until the product is a quality release. This stage progresses quickly because reviews are short and refinements are very minor.

The final (operational) release of NIEM 4.0 is projected for the end of June. At that time, 4.0 schemas and documentation will be published, along with updates to tooling and specifications.
