Cyber Domain Joins the NIEM.gov Website

The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) is pleased to announce the inclusion of the Cyber Domain community on the NIEM.gov website. The Cyber Domain is bringing together stakeholders with the objective to consistently share information to defend against cybersecurity threats and to inform a resilient posture to cyber risks at the enterprise-level.

NIEM domains are formally established communities with a shared commitment to interoperability and secure information exchanges using NIEM. The Cyber Domain’s executive steward is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As the nation’s cybersecurity and infrastructure risk advisor, CISA is uniquely positioned to partner with Cyber stakeholders to develop risk-informed decisions based on consistent cyber data and information sharing.

The Cyber Domain may be found in the Communities section of NIEM.gov at: https://www.niem.gov/communities/cyber.

For questions about the Cyber Domain or to request to join the Cyber Domain please contact cisa.cto.niem@cisa.dhs.gov.

About the National Information Exchange Model

The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) provides a model framework with rules and guidance designed to develop consistent and well-defined enterprise-level information exchanges. For more than fourteen years, NIEM has successfully supported information communities of interest with a shared need for data interoperability across the public and private sector, both nationally and internationally.

NIEM’s Executive Steering Council (ESC) serves as NIEM’s decision-making body regarding membership, funding requirements, program or technical direction, personnel appointments, and organizational decisions associated with NIEM management.

NIEM’s Management Office (NMO) executes the ESC’s directions, while managing day-to-day operations, encouraging adoption and the use of NIEM, and overseeing all working group and committee activities. The NMO coordinates with domains, principal stakeholders, and other information-sharing initiatives to promote collaboration and interest associated with NIEM priorities.
