SORTEntry

"This IEPD is designed to support the production and consumption of Information Exchange Packages (IEPs) that are conformant to the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) version 3.0.  For more information see http://www.niem.gov.  An IEPD defines the format and content of an IEP and does not address the method used to transport the IEP from one system to another. The Sexual Offender Registry Tool (SORT) is the information system used by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to hold and maintain records on registered sexual offenders within the State of Georgia. The SORT offender records are maintained by the criminal justice agency having jurisdiction over the offender. Much of the record maintenance is performed using the SORT user interface. However the offender data often already exists in another information system providing the opportunity to enter and update SORT offender records electronically. Thus the purpose of the SORT Entry IEPD is to provide a pair of information exchanges to request entry or update of registered sexual offender information in SORT and receive the result of the request.  It can be used where registered sexual offender information is available in another information system and can be transferred to SORT electronically.  This reduces staff demands and improves data quality by reducing or eliminating manual entry of the information into SORT.The SORT Entry information exchange is triggered by the following events where the offender information is required by statute and/or policy to be entered into SORT:   A registered sexual offender is released from custody into the community. A registered sexual offender moves from out of state or via interstate compact into a criminal justice agency's jurisdiction.    A registered sexual offender is updated via an agency's SOR case management system. The SORT Entry IEPD consists of two information exchanges: a SORT Entry Request and a SORT Entry Result. The SORT Entry Request IEP contains the offender data to be entered or updated including the offender identity; demographics; convictions and charges; probation and parole; associated locations such as residence place of employment and school; and associated vehicles and boats. The SORT Entry Result contains data about the result of the request including the Sex Offender Registration Number (SRN) an indication of success warning or failure in processing the request and whether the request resulted in a record entry or update. The SORT Entry information exchange is intended to be implemented by a service using a synchronous request-reply message pattern."
