Sex Offender Release Notification

A Sex Offender Release Notification is sent by a Jail when a sex offender is released from jail and by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) when a sex offender is released from a State Institution.  The Sex Offender Release Notification is sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Law Enforcement Agency having jurisdiction over the location where the sex offender is released and with which the offender must register. The Sex Offender Release Notification is one of 28 IEPDs developed by the Texas Path to NIEM project to support information exchange between state and local government organizations throughout the state of Texas.  It could also be adapted for use in other states.
