Request for Prosecution Based on a Misdemeanor

An Request for Prosecution Based on a Misdemeanor is sent from a Law Enforcement Agency to the Prosecutor If a Law Enforcement Agency determines a crime was committed and if the crime was a misdemeanor and if the Law Enforcement Agency finds probable cause to refer the case to the Prosecutor.  The Request for Prosecution Based on a Misdemeanor contains court information defendant information charge information and witness information.  The Request for Prosecution Based on a Misdemeanor is one of 44 IEPDs developed by the California Department of Justice - Data Exchange Project to support information exchange between state and local government organizations throughout the state of California.  It could also be adapted for use in other states.
