Fatality Analysis Reporting System and NASS General Estimates System (FARSGES)

The Fatality Analysis Reporting System and NASS General Estimates System (FARSGES) IEPD is a standardized data set for describing traffic crashes involving at least one motor vehicle traveling on a trafficway. This IEPD references version 1.0 of the FARSGES data set.The Fatality Analysis Reporting System and NASS General Estimates System Guideline (FARSGES) include information on motor vehicle crashes and the vehicles persons and environment involved. This data set combines data elements defined in both 2014 FARS-NASS GES Coding & validation Manual and 2014 Pedestrian and Bike Coding Manual. These manuals will be made available at ftp://ftp.nhtsa.dot.gov/FARS/FARS-DOC/. Most of the data elements in this dataset are collected based on the information from Police Accident Reports. Also information from vehicle registration files driver license files highway data and other state documents is included.
