Title: Contact NIEM

The National Information Sharing Standards (NISS) help desk will assist users in finding answers to their technical questions regarding the content, principles and best practices for using the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). The National Information Sharing Standards help desk will be the primary source for the practitioner and solution provider communities for GJXDM and NIEM in-practice knowledge. The practitioner community includes all justice and public safety community practitioners who reside in local, state, tribal, and Federal government agencies. The solution provider community includes all firms engaged in the definition, design, development, deployment and support for systems used by the practitioner community.

The National Information Sharing Standards help desk consists of an online knowledge base, which is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and live technical support staff who are available from 9 a.m. 8 p.m. (EST) Monday - Friday, excluding federal holidays.

The help desk is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs; the Global Training and Technical Assistance Committee (GTTAC); the IJIS Institute; SEARCH, The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics; the National Center for State Courts (NCSC); and Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI).

NIEM also provides a detailed contact list of organizations that are developing, implementing, or utilizing NIEM in information sharing projects. This includes initiatives ranging from detailed development of Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) to end-user utilization of resources, such as FBI's National Data Exchange (N-DEx) and Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) information.
